Why use a separate eye product?
Your eyes are one of the first places on the face to show visible signs of aging, starting as soon as your early 20’s.
The eye area has the thinnest skin in the body and doesn’t contain any oil glands so it’s no wonder that puffiness, dark circles and crows feet (fine lines and wrinkles) are an issue for many women. Eye creams contain more targeted ingredients. Eye creams tend to be thicker because they contain more oil to give a major boost to dry/dehydrated eye skin.
The three main concerns are:
1.Puffiness: the puffiness around your eyes is sometimes due to inflammation. When you drink too much alcohol or eat too much sugary foods, your body becomes inflamed and that inflammation shows up right away under and around your eyes. Lack of sleep and a high salt diet are also major culprits behind puffiness, because our bodies retain water if we’re not getting enough rest or eating too much sodium rich foods.
Product recommendation: Jade Rollers- jade stone works the skin out by promoting lymphatic drainage, which will bring down puffiness in the eye area and face, and will improve circulation which will get you glowing! Just make sure to apply oil or serum to the area first and go gently. Work outwards from the centre of the face, and try to do it every night.
2. Aging/ crows feet/wrinkles- the eye area is the first to show your age, as we grow older we produce less collagen and elastin so the thin skin in your eye area becomes even more fragile and prone to sagging. As for fine lines, they really can’t be avoided! We blink, on average, ten thousand times a day and that puts the eye area under enormous strain. If you squint in the sunlight that adds even more stain in the area. Wear your sunglasses 1: you’ll put less strain in the delicate eye area 2: you might be mistaken for a wag!
Product recommendation: Environ Vita Peptide Eye Gel, contains low level vitamin a which will help to normalise and repair the skin to promote younger, smoother looking skin, argireline which acts like a friendly Botox to help soften the muscle contraction & optim-hyal which restores the hyaluronic acid and stimulates the body to produce more which sustains its renewal constantly.
3: Dark Circles: because dark circles under the eyes can be unfortunate by products of heredity and aging, often there’s no way to eliminate them completely. but you may be able to reduce their appearance with a few tweaks to your diet, lifestyle and beauty routine. dark circles can be a sign your body is lacking vitamin k, potassium and water.
Product recommendation: Eminence Wild Plum Eye Cream this eye cream targets dark eye circles with vitamin k and is also anti inflammatory, Shea butter and grape oil moisturises and plumps the skin, bio complex2 is a super antioxidant that restores radiance and vitality and is high in green tea which is a source of vitamin c which will help with colour and tone in the area and also will stimulate collagen and elastin.
How to use your eye cream: use every morning and night, after your serum and before your moisturiser. Use your fourth finger (the weakest digit) so you won’t press too hard. Pat cream lightly onto your eye area working from the inside out. Resist the urge to rub it in! This part of your face is far too delicate for that! Don’t forget the corners of your eyes either!
